TENTS is a Portland based comfort-pop quartet currently writing their second album, to be release in 2019 via Badman Recording Co.
TENTS is active in Portland and up and down the west coast, having played the Doug Fir/Mississippi Studios/Bottom of the Hill/Hi-Hat circuit with the likes of Nyles Lannon(Film School), Cardioid, The Builders and the Butchers, and Frankie Simone. Collaborators include Katy Davidson of Dear Nora and Remi Aguilella of Daughter.
In a content forward universe, TENTS are reinventing themselves. In doing so they have created an entirely new kind of phenomenon. It plays out like a narrated music video, but is more-so a glimpse behind the curtain. They are taking the concept of a production diary and expanding it to explosive new heights.
Their debut LP, Deer Keeps Pace, came out on May 11 of 2018 via Badman Recording Co. It was received regional acclaim. The band has since built a small but increasingly eager fanbase. With 150k streams and a strong presence on Instagram.
TENTS is in fact, a family band. Vocalists Amy and Brian are partners, and parents. The band formed in the tumultuous wake of bandleader, Brian Hall's decade long career writing music for brands.
Magic spouts effortlessly through this music. It feels like a bunch of kids laughing and shouting from the recesses of a playground, inviting the cynics and the skeptics and the wallflowers to join the fun.
